It’s been an exciting year for Dale Ann Bradley with the wildly successful release of her self-titled album on Pinecastle Records, her induction into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, a busy tour schedule with Sister Sadie, wrapping up yet another recording project of her own and three recently announced 2018 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) nominations .
Dale Ann is looking forward to touring in support of these two albums next year and is proud to announce her new banjo player, Steve Wilson. Dale Ann and Steve recently collaborated on some tracks on her forthcoming release and realized a natural rapport musically and also found that the entire band got along really well.
“I am very thrilled with Steve Wilson joining the band,” said Dale Ann recently, “I’ve worked with him at Bonfire Studio and know first hand how serious he is about putting the best music together possible. He’s very creative and we love the same types of music. He is loaded with talent and is one of the best people to boot. No better combination of talent and personality than Steve.”
Most will identify Steve as the band leader from his banjo company band Wilson Banjo Co., which was formed to expose the sound and custom build of his banjos. The band was signed by Bonfire Recording Company in 2017, soon after releasing their “Spirits in the Hills” album.
Steve's Custom Wilson Banjos are played by incredible bluegrass pickers like Dale Perry (David Parmley and Cardinal Tradition, Lonesome River Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver), Tony Wray (Tyminski, Blue Mafia, Tina Adair Band) and Gena Britt (Sister Sadie, Alan Bibey & Grasstowne, Lou Reid & Carolina). Steve has been involved in the music industry one way or another for many years. He's played in several bands from NY to Tennessee, honing his skill, worked for the Gibson Custom Art Division in Nashville, built some fine banjos, and is currently the recording engineer for Bonfire Recording Studio and has recently recorded projects for Dale Ann Bradley, Flashback, Shawn Lane, The King James Boys, Branded Bluegrass, and many more. He is very excited about this next chapter.
“Working with Dale Ann is a dream come true for me,” Wilson says, I have been a fan of her music for decades and having become friends over the past year and given the recent opportunity to record with her has been incredible. I have such a deep admiration for the music that she has created and the path she has cleared for so many in the industry. I am looking so forward to this musical journey with this A-list group of musicians.”
The Dale Ann Bradley Band will be at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival on August 11th in Hebron, CT. and you can keep up with all their music news and whereabouts online or facebook to find out if they will be playing somewhere near you.
